The Flower Fields

Last weekend, we went to The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California.  That was my second trip there but this time, I brought my Ashton with me!  Exciting?  Yes it was!

The Flower Fields

The Flower Fields is a fifty acre field of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that is open to the public for approximately six to eight weeks annually.  Unfortunately, The Flower Fields are already closed because the flowers are already out of season.  We were just lucky to catch the last of the spring blooms and capture their glory.

The Flower Fields is an actual working ranch and is the only ranch that allows tourists to walk around and experience their beauty.  Of course, picking of the flowers are not permitted but you can purchase some freshly picked blooms available at the store.

I was just uber lucky to go and stay in between the flowers.  Doesn’t it look like I’m standing smack dab in the middle of the field?  Well, I thought so.

The weather was a bit overcast when we were there so unfortunately, I didn’t get to shoot blue skies over the field but I think these photos still look great.

The Flower Fields also have a rose garden and a poinsettia greenhouse where they breed different kinds of poinsettias the whole year round.  Imagine seeing yellow poinsettias?  That was the first time I saw one, mind you.

I checked out the sweat pea maze but didn’t get to finish it because they were already wilted.

Another thing that you can do at The Flower Fields is to go on Wagon Rides that circles the field.  This a good way to see the field in it’s entirety while sitting back and relaxing atop the wagon.

You could also walk around the fields at your own pace but tours are also available.

Summer Heat

Summertime is almost upon us and despite it still being spring, I can already feel the heat!  We can’t go out and roll down the windows now because it is unbearably hot!

You guys better check your auto ac parts just to be sure that your ac compressor is in working order because you wouldn’t want your air conditioner to give out on you while on a trip.

Despite the heat, I still find time to enjoy summer.  This is also one of the times that I can get away with wearing those spaghetti blouses and short shorts! LMAO  No need for cover ups, yes?

Twilight

I am soooooo amused by our new kitty.  See, we rescued her from the harsh weather.  Our neighbor siad she was outside since Monday of last week!  Poor Kitty!

Since we had her, we have been spoiling her silly!  She sleeps on my bed, on my pc table, on my bedside table, and somtimes on my lap! LOL  isn’t that cute?

We also noticed that she has a heart shaped spot on her back!  Cool, huh?

Girlie Games and Me

One of the things that I remember playing are Girl Games like dress up, cooking, playing house, and Barbie dolls.  Ahhh to look back and thing about the antics and craziness that I did makes me smile.

I remember putting on three inch heels and fashion jewelry and pose in front of the mirror.  I didn’t try putting on make up, though since I didn’t have anyone to emulate.

As I got older, I enjoyed playing grilie games on our old computer.  It’s not like what we currently have today but it was fun!

Not only that but I still play those games online!  LOL  I guess we can’t leave the kid in us behind!

Digital Scrapping Forums

In my search for awesome designs and layouts for digital scrapbooking, I discovered quite a few forums.  I’m still a bit hesitant to join them, though because I am not an accomplished scrapper but I decided to give it a whirl.

I recently joined OScraps.com and I will participate in their scrap challenges. This way, I can improve my pages and maybe win a few gift certificates (in my dreams) hehehehe :)

Well, wish me luck!  I’ll be sure to keep you guys informed of my progress!
