Earlier this month, Italy introduced more than 150 more or less under the property laws for “public safety”, which was met with surprise by both tourists and the Italian press. One of the laws applicable in Vigevano, near Milan, and forbids people to sit in the shade at the foot of a local monument, which recently was an unpleasant surprise for a local couple, who were fined? 160 each for having sat down for a moment to rest in the shade.

The last thing holidaymakers want to experience on your holiday is long arm of the law. But with a growing number of destinations around the world who are becoming stricter on tourists who do not comply with local regulations, it pays to know what applies before you book flights to other countries. this week a look at some of the most strange and unusual laws, to help tourists to avoid trouble on your holiday.

Singapore
In an attempt to keep the streets in the super-efficient clean city of Singapore, the authorities decided in 1992 to ban chewing gum. Keep up rather then to a mint to freshen up after dinner.

Eraclea, Italy

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Dubai
can with its luxurious resorts and stunning beaches seem like the ideal place to spend a romantic holidays, but not to be affectionate – kissing in public is illegal, and many tourists have fallen victim to this law in recent years.

Southeast Asia scent of durian fruit, which is available in Brunei , Indonesia and Malaysia, is so incredibly strong that it is prohibited in many public places in Southeast Asia. Even if the law is very strict, it is probably safest to avoid taking a Durian fruit back to the hotel.
